Xuan & Jonathan

Xuan and Jon first approached me back in Mid-March inquiring about my wedding packages, and excited to get to know their story and meet them face-to-face, I started to coordinate a meet-up. Problem was, I was in studying abroad in London at the time, and they were actually living Houston, Texas! So after brainstorming with the time-zone difference, our first official meeting was through Skype to discuss the wedding taking place in sunny California. Although not my ideal first meet-up through a computer screen, I could tell that Jon and Xuan were my ideal couple! After that initial talk, I couldn’t have been more excited to be working with them on their special day.

Through our countless emails and during the actual wedding day, I started to see how Xuan and Jon complimented each other; both calm and composed when planning a hectic wedding day, and both full of life when it comes to the dance floor! Both with a sense of humor and filled with love for each other, I can’t wait to share highlights of their wedding day with all of you!

PREP + DETAILS

The lighting at the hotel room was gorgeous, and I just HAD to take advantage of it! This wedding featured beautiful greys and cool tones with pops of warm coral.

Before having Xuan get into the dress, we took some shots of her and her bridesmaids with their robes.

As the Bridesmaids were preparing for the rest of the day, the groomsmen were getting ready in another room...potentially with liquor as well. ;)

CEREMONY

The Catholic Ceremony was held at a beautiful Church, and it was full of emotion and wisdom:

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." - 1 Corinthians 13:4 - 8; 13

BRIDAL PARTY

With a grassy area off to the side from the reception, there was just enough diffused lighting from the trees that provided a perfect place for us to shoot. Xuan and the bridesmaids looked STUNNING in their portraits, and the guys were spunky with theirs!

PORTRAITS

Originally we were going to take the Bridal Party Portraits at Brand Park, but with the photo restrictions, we've decided to change it to just the Bride and Groom the last minute. Xuan and Jon were both incredible in being flexible and patient with this new plan despite our time constraints, all while killing it in their portraits!
